Teen dies in moped accident in the Laurentians

A 15-year-old teenager died Wednesday evening in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac on Montreal’s North Shore after a crash involving the teen’s moped and a vehicle.
The accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at the corner of Chemin Principal and Laviolette Street, off Highway 640. According to police the teen was crossing the intersection when their moped collided with the vehicle.
Once on the scene, paramedics attempted to resuscitate the young victim, but they were pronounced dead in hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision. The driver of the vehicle involved will also be interviewed by police.
