A minor was arrested on Montreal’s South Shore Thursday after allegedly making threats toward a high school in Longueuil.
Longueuil police (SPAL) said they were called to École secondaire Gérard-Fillion on Curé-Poirier Blvd., corner Taschereau Blvd., at around 11:15 a.m. and the school was put on lockdown.

As a precautionary measure, students were on lockdown and parents were told to not to come get their children at school.
In the afternoon, police said students and staff were safe after conducting a search of the school, but were under lockdown as the investigation continued.
The police force then said a young man who does not attend the school was arrested. The minor was not on the scene when the threats were made and no weapons have been found so far.
“The suspect will be questioned by investigators and could face charges of public mischief and uttering threats,” police said.
At 2:30 p.m., police said the intervention was complete and the lockdown was lifted.
The Centre de services scolaire Marie-Victorin (CSSMV) overseeing the school said in a Facebook post: for those that require support following the event, teams of psychosocial intervention professionals and Employee and Family Assistance Program (PAEF) responders have been deployed to the school to offer support to affected students and staff for the coming days.
“We are aware that this event is in addition to other similar events that have occurred in recent weeks,” the CSSMV wrote. “Awareness campaigns are being implemented in collaboration with the police department in our schools and will continue.”
