Toddler dies after being found seriously injured at daycare in Lanaudière

L’ASSOMPTION, Qc – A young child has died in hospital after being found injured at a home daycare in L’Assomption, in Lanaudière, on Tuesday.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which is investigating the case, was informed by the L’Assomption/Saint-Sulpice police department.
According to the information released by the SQ on Wednesday morning, the child, aged less than three, had significant injuries when they were taken to hospital. They later died of their injuries.
The SQ’s Crimes Against the Person squad is investigating. An autopsy and forensic examinations will be carried out to support their investigation.
No arrests have been made as investigators have yet to determine if there was foul play.
