Teen shot in Little Burgundy, Montreal police investigate

By The Canadian Press

An 18-year-old was seriously injured in the upper body Wednesday night in Montreal’s Little Burgundy.

Police (SPVM) say the young man was hit with at least one bullet, but his life is now out of danger.

Several calls were made to 911 around 10:30 p.m. to alert authorities about gunshots heard near Atwater and Delisle, near the Lionel-Groulx metro.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim injured and he was taken to hospital.

Shortly afterwards, another man was taken in for questioning, but was released a few hours later. He is scheduled to meet investigators later on Thursday.

A security perimeter was set up in the area to allow investigators to gather information on the case, but it has since been taken down.
