"More fabulousness," says Tika the Iggy, an Italian Greyhound from Montreal who is also a social media star. The 9-pound pooch is back from a cross-continent book tour for "Tika the Iggy: Lessons in Life, Love, and Fashion." Pamela Pagano reports.

This 9-pound pooch is back home from a cross-continent book tour.

Tika the Iggy is not only a Montreal social media star — with over 2.8 million TikTok followers — she’s also a fashion icon with a new book: “Tika the Iggy: Lessons in Life, Love, and Fashion.”

“It’s packed with adorable images of moi in outstanding outfits,” said Tika, with some help from her owner, Thomas Shapiro. “It’ll add a little more fabulousness into your life.”

She’s an Italian Greyhound – with a personality that is larger-than-life – almost as big as her wardrobe – filled with over 300 outfits.

You may remember the internet sensation in her 2020 video that went viral — where she couldn’t show off her fashion forward looks due to the pandemic.

“I’m always cold, so clothing comes naturally to me,” explained Tika, answering how she feels being a fashion icon. “I get to work with so many wonderful designers and have sat front row at Paris, Milan, and New York Fashion Weeks.”

From being interviewed by VOGUE to hanging out with Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Barrymore, and Jared Leto – she’s been chronicling her show-stopping looks – whose purpose is also to keep her warm — since 2016, and she’s been dubbed a gay icon by her fans.

“It’s just been such a joy to see where its taken us,” said Shapiro, Tika’s owner who is also jokingly known as her “Second-Favourite Dad” in her social media posts. “Were making people laugh.”

“Were making people smile,” he added. “Were bringing a bit of levity to their day.”

Her first book, “Tika the Iggy and Her Fashion Tour,” a children’s book published in 2021 — written when her baby brother was born.

Since then, the family has grown – with an adorable sister – and a paw-some Italian greyhound sister – Kala.

“This (new) book is fun, adds a little bit of fabulousness to your life,” said Shapiro. “It’s light, you can learn some lessons.”

“But if you just want a cute little coffee table book for your coffee tables,” he adds. “It’ll do the trick.”

Available online and in book stores — it’s set to bring some paw-sitivity to your day.

“Spread love, kindness, and joy,” said Tika. “If you ever see me on the streets of Montreal please say hi and bring me snacks.”

“Bisou!”
