A 27-year-old man was attacked Monday night on the Montreal metro in Ahuntsic.

The man was the victim of an armed assault and was injured by a sharp object on the orange line at the Crémazie station.

The police were called around 11 p.m. and when they arrived on the scene, the man had already been taken to the hospital by paramedics.

He suffered injuries to the upper body, but they are not considered life threatening.

According to police, the victim might have had a conflict with another man at Henri-Bourassa and the altercation continued in the metro cars.

“The victim got off at Crémazie station, but we believe the fight started at Henri-Bourassa. We don’t know what weapon was used but it was a sharp object,” declared Montreal Police (SPVM) spokesperson Jeanne Drouin.

The suspect fled the scene and there were no other injuries during this event.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
