17-year-old in hospital after stabbing in Montreal

By News Staff

A 17-year-old was stabbed early Sunday evening in Montreal’s Ville-Marie borough.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several calls around 6:30 p.m. regarding a fight between multiple individuals, on Berger Street, near Sainte-Catherine Street.

Once on the scene, police found a 17-year-old with upper body injuries caused by a sharp object.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, but was conscious.

The SPVM says that by the end of the evening, the young man’s state of health had stabilized and he was out of danger.

This comes less than 24 hours after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie – also following an altercation.

That incident happened on Saturday night around 8:40 p.m.

SPVM responded to a call on Euclide-Brien, near Saint-Michel Blvd.

The teen was also injured in the upper body and was taken to hospital. His life is not in danger.

An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far in either case.
