Cold front on the way for Montreal

Montrealers will experience contrasting weather during the weekend due to a cold front.

The mercury levels are expected to drop as of Friday evening before rising on Sunday.

The cold front will be accompanied by sunshine throughout the province, with the potential of cloudy skies once the temperature drops.

According to Environment Canada, the weather on Friday will be mainly cloudy with a few showers starting in the afternoon, then changing into flurries by the evening.

The high will be plus 5 and a low of minus 16, with the windchill feeling like minus 23 overnight.

On Saturday, there will be sunny skies with a high of minus 7 and a wind chill of minus 24 in the morning but the temperature will warm to minus 14 by the afternoon.

Sunday, temperatures will rise to minus 1 with clear skies.

The average high for this time of year is usually minus 3 and the low minus 11 according to the weather agency.

Monday we’ll see snow or rain and a high of plus 2.

More showers possible Tuesday and a high of plus 6 degrees.

Warming up and reaching plus 10 on Wednesday with more rain.

Then a chance of flurries on Thursday and dipping back down to minus 1.
