Man in hospital after stabbing in Outremont

By News Staff & The Canadian Press

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a 32-year-old man was stabbed in Outremont Tuesday night.

SPVM received 911 calls around 9:40 p.m. about the attack in a residential building on de l’Épée Avenue, near the intersection of Van Horne Avenue.

When they arrived on the scene, police found the victim seriously injured, but conscious.

He was taken to the hospital with upper body injuries and is currently in stable condition.

According to police, the stabbing occurred after a conflict started between the victim and a 26-year-old man, but they say the two men knew each other.

The suspect fled before police arrived on the scene and has not been arrested.

A security perimeter is in place to allow investigators and forensic technicians to examine the scene.
