A mother and her two children struck by vehicle in Sud-Ouest borough

A mother and her two children were hit and injured by a vehicle on Thursday afternoon near the Jolicoeur metro station in the Sud-Ouest borough.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. at the corner of de la Vérendrye boulevard and Jolicoeur.

The 30-year-old woman suffered a hip injury. Her two children, one in under a year old in a baby carrier and a two-year-old in a stroller, were also injured in the collision. Their lives were not in danger, but suffered injuries to their head.

They were transported to hospital – and the mother was conscious at the time.

The three were transported to the hospital, and the children’s lives are reportedly out of danger.

The 41-year-old driver was traveling westbound on de la Vérendrye and made a left turn when he hit the pedestrians. He stopped immediately after impact. The driver was also transported to hospital and treated for shock.

Jolicoeur westbound remained closed as of 5:30 p.m.
