Major weekend road closure: Decarie Expressway South

A major weekend closure for Montreal road users to be aware of, the Decarie Expressway South (A-15) will be closed.

Times vary and some closures start as early as 10 p.m. on Friday, March 22 and go until Monday, March 25, at 5 a.m.

Highway 15 will be closed Friday, March 22 – at midnight from the Metropolitaine Expressway (A-40) interchange and the Jean-Talon Street to replace a section of beam on the de la Savane Street overpass.

Default closures:

  •  Highway 40 West and East, 520 West and East, and Marcel-Laurin Boulevard entrances to the Decarie.
  •  de la Savane Street overpass

Additionally, closures of Highway 15 North and service roads in each direction will be put in place to install a pedestrian bridge between the de la Savane metro station and Royalmount Avenue.

Lastly, Décarie Blvd. South will be closed between de la Côte-de-Liesse Street and Royalmount Avenue from Friday at 10 p.m. until Saturday 7 a.m. and from Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 7 a.m.

Turcot Interchange

Access to Decarie North from Highway 20 East and West and Saint-Jacques Street will all be closed Friday midnight to Saturday 6 a.m. and then Saturday midnight to Sunday 6 a.m.

The ramps from Queen Mary Street, Jean-Talon Street, Sherbrooke Street and Édouard-Montpetit Blvd. will also be closed.

The work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Transport Quebec recommends that drivers should prepare for a longer travel time if they’re coming to the area, as congestion is to be expected.
