Double murder in Vaudreuil-Dorion: accused still unfit to stand trial

Fabio Puglisi, the man who allegedly committed a double murder in Vaudreuil-Dorion, on Feb. 15, is still unfit to stand trial.

The suspect appeared in court on Monday, where the judge granted a 30-day extension of the psychiatric treatment order at Philippe-Pinel Institute.

Puglisi allegedly murdered two women: his mother, 68-year-old Elisabetta Caucci-Puglisi, and a neighbour, 53-year-old Manon Blanchard, by stabbing them to death.

The 44-year-old also allegedly attacked a third woman who lived in the building. The 69-year-old woman – who was transported to hospital in critical condition, but survived.

She was hospitalized at the Montreal General Hospital for three days and according to a TVA Nouvelles, she now refuses to return the building where the tragedy occurred.

Puglisi is charged with two counts of second-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault of the third victim. He will return to court in April.
