Major road closures coming this weekend on Decarie and Papineau-Leblanc Bridge

Montreal motorists are advised that partial or complete closures will be taking place on the Decarie expressway and the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge this weekend, which will affect traffic.

The Ministry of Transport is informing drivers that that Highway 15 (Decarie) will be closed southbound from April 5 to 8, between the Decarie interchange and the entrance from rue Jean- Talon. The closure is required to replace a section of the beam of the Rue de la Savane overpass.

Major closures on Decarie

The complete closure of Highway 15 South between the Decarie interchange and the entrance ramp from Jean-Talon Street, will take place from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

The following highway ramps will be closed:

A-40 east to A-15 south, from Friday 11:30 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;

A-40 west to A-15 south, from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;

Boulevard Marcel-Laurin towards A-15 south, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;

Exit no. 65 – Airport / A-520 west / Côte-de-Liesse Autoroute, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;

Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse east towards A-40 east, west of the Décarie interchange, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.;

Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse west towards A-40 west, at rue Houde, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Closure of rue de la Savane westbound between boulevards Décarie north and south, from Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.

Complete closure of the Papineau-Leblanc Bridge from April 5 to 8

The Papineau-Leblanc Bridge and a portion of Highway 19 will be completely closed to traffic during the weekend of April 5 to 8. The closure is required to replace the wires on the bridge.

Highway 19 (Papineau) will be completely closed to traffic beginning Friday 10 p.m. until Monday 4:30 a.m.

Complete closure southbound between Highway 440 (Jean-Noël-Lavoie) and Henri-Bourrassa Boulevard. Access to Boulevard Saint-Martin will be possible.

Complete closure northbound between Henri-Bourassa and de la Concorde boulevards.

To travel from Montreal to Laval, drivers are urged to take the Pie-IX Bridge and the Médéric-Martin Bridge.

To get from Laval to Montreal, drivers should prioritize travel via the Pie-IX Bridge and the Louis-Bisson Bridge.

With the simultaneous closure of southbound Highway 15 between the Decarie interchange and Jean-Talon Street, it’s best to avoid taking Highway 15 South (des Laurentides) to travel from Laval to Montreal.

Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage and congestion is to be expected. The Transport Ministry recommends that road users travelling in the area allow extra time to get to their destination.
