Car set on fire in Montreal overnight

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a vehicle was torched in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area overnight.

Officers received a 911 call around 3 a.m. about the fire on A.-A.-Desroches Street near Saint-Émile Street.

According to police, firefighters were already on the scene when they arrived.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and the case has been handed over to the Montreal police arson squad.

There were no reported injuries and the investigation remains ongoing.
