Child dies after being struck by vehicle in Roxton Pond

A three-year old died after being hit by a van in the Eastern Townships on Wednesday.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), emergency services were called about a collision on Jacques Street in Roxton Pond around 4:15 p.m.
The driver, a man in his 30s, hit the child while travelling at low speed on a private road they say.
The child was transported to hospital, where they later died.
The SQ says based on initial findings, there does not appear to be any criminal element involved.
