Shots possibly fired at vehicle in Anjou: SPVM

By The Canadian Press

Montreal police say shots may have been fired Sunday morning at a vehicle on the service road of Highway 25 in Anjou.

The SPVM says it happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bombardier Street.

The 54-year-old driver of the vehicle, which was going northbound, told police he heard what sounded like gunshots.

“That’s when the rear window of his vehicle fell,” said SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier.

As of Sunday afternoon, the SPVM refused to confirm if gunshots were to blame.

A suspect vehicle fled before police arrived, Gauthier added. There were no injuries.

The Highway 25 service road, between Lamartine Street and Bombardier Street, was closed to traffic Sunday.

An SPVM investigation is ongoing.
