Île-aux-Tourtes bridge: more weekend closures

By News Staff

The Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be closed to traffic from Friday at 11 p.m. to Sunday 5 a.m. The work is required fix a damaged portion of the slab.

Both lanes of the bridge heading towards Vaudreuil-Dorion will remain open, while the toll will be suspended eastbound on Highway 30 to offer an alternative for drivers going towards Montreal.

There will also be a complete closure of Highway 40 eastbound between exit 35 (Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac /Vaudreuil-Dorion/St-Charles Ave.) and the entrance from des Anciens-Combattants Blvd. This will also be from Friday 11 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m.

The ramp leading from Highway 40 to the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge from the interchange with Highway 30 will be closed. Road users should use Highway 20 and 30.

Also, there will be an additional 300 temporary parking spaces near the bus terminal and Vaudreuil train station, which will be available until the end of the year.

The work could be postponed, extended, or cancelled due to weather conditions or operational constraints.

Detour routes will be marked with temporary signage and congestion is to be expected. Quebec’s Transport Ministry recommends that road users travelling in the area allow extra time to get to their destination.

Drivers can also consult Québec 511, to properly plan their trip.
