76-year-old pedestrian hit by car in Montreal North

A pedestrian was transported to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday night in Montreal North.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a call around 11:15 p.m. about a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred at the intersection of Pie-IX and Henri-Bourassa Blvd.

The victim, a 76-year-old woman, was transported to hospital with injuries to the upper body. Initially, medical authorities feared for the victim’s life, but the SPVM told CityNews that her health has since stabilized.

According to police, the 61-year-old driver, who suffered no injuries, was traveling on Pie-IX Blvd. heading south before hitting the pedestrian who was trying to cross the road.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
