Lionel Messi, considered by many as the greatest soccer player of all time, took to the pitch at Saputo Stadium Saturday night to take on CF Montreal in MLS action.
For many fans at the game this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the soccer legend play. Some of them shared their impressions on seeing Messi in action.
“Amazing, honestly like I’ve always been a fan. I don’t know. I’ve always been a fan. I love Messi and it’s a dream come true to see him,” said Bianca Rosado, a Montrealer. “He’s real you know, it was like such a surreal experience just watching him like I saw the World Cup, I was supporting Argentina and it’s been an amazing experience just watching him.”

“Well he’s very smart at playing. He calculates whenever he’s running so he’s just calculating and watching everywhere,” said Jean-François Bonin, a Montrealer.
“Truly amazing. Never seen him this close though. This is incredible,” said Ignacio Imhof, who is from Argentina, but lives in Montreal. “Very good touch, the way he just dribbles past the players is incredible and the way he receives, amazing. I’m from Argentina so I came to see Messi play. I’m happy you know but I still support CF Montreal because this is my team you know I’m from here and I support CF Montreal man.”

“To tell you the truth, in my opinion, he’s probably the best player in the world right now and just from what I’ve seen so far I’ve never seen in any other place that I’ve seen so far for what I’ve watched,” said Kalex Velez, visiting from Miami, adding, “watched everywhere in the MLS, very different than what you see in Europe. Messi brings it over here so it’s just fantastic.”
“He just does everything great,” said Marlon Trejo, visiting from Delaware. “He’s amazing, the way he walks, the way he touches the ball his first touch, his weight of pass, everything.”
Inter Miami won the game 3-2 over CF Montreal in front of a sold out crowd of 19,619.
