The Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) says there will be an overall average price increase of 0.7 per cent for its products – as of Sunday.
Just over 2,000 products will be affected by this increase. The average increase will be around $0.53.
They add that 469 products will remain at the same price and 935 others will cost less.
The SAQ says it is able to announce a “very small price increase” thanks to lower shipping costs.
In a press release, SAQ President and CEO Jacques Farcy said, “We are maintaining fair and competitive prices, an essential part of our customer experience.”
“Every customer will continue to find a wine or spirit that meets both their expectations and their budget.”
Other factors have contributed to the price adjustment, including increased production costs for suppliers, says the SAQ.
It now offers a total of 139 products under the $12 mark.
