Canada Day events in Montreal

"We're going to maybe have a little party after," said one Montrealer about her Canada Day plans for the long weekend.

Several events and activities are planned throughout the Montreal area to celebrate Canada Day this weekend.

Clock Tower Quay at the Old Port

1:30 p.m. 21 cannon shots to salute to Canada’s birthday. The Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP will attend, and residents can take a souvenir photo alongside them.

2:00 p.m. Swearing-in ceremony for citizenship for new Canadians.

3:00 p.m. Activities that feature artistic performances, a giant playground, inflatable games, etc.

3:30 p.m. Canada Day cupcakes

8:00 p.m. The activities will close, followed by a performance by DJ Hools.

10:00 p.m. End of the show and fireworks.

Millennium Park in Dorval

For easier access to Millennium Park, the City of Dorval will be providing a free shuttle service to citizens.

The shuttle stops include the following:

-Parking lot at Walters Park

-Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre

-Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex

-Millennium Park

From 12 p.m. until the end of the event, shuttles will stop at these locations approximately every 30 minutes. They will also drive this route several times to allow citizens who want to leave the event to return to their initial stop.

Also, food trucks and alcohol-free beverages will available during the event.

The schedule includes:

12 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Outdoor activities, entertainment, inflatable games, temporary tattoos, face painting, etc.

2:30 p.m.: Strength display by Jean-Roch Cyr, the strongest man in Dorval.

4 p.m.: Performance by singer Jeff Waters

5:15 p.m.: Jimmy Moore impersonates Taylor Swift

7 p.m.: Tribute to Pink with performance of “Trouble”

8:30 p.m.: Official ceremony starts

8:45 p.m.: Dance Deluxe performs

10:15 p.m.: Firework show

Pierrefonds-Roxboro

Pierrefonds-Roxboro will have an amusement park, a parade, floats, a large-scale show and fireworks.

From June 27 to July 1, the amusement park will be open at Pierrefonds Community High School (PCHS) with fees ranging from $2 to $37.

Canada Day Parade and fireworks:

10 a.m.: Departure from École de l’Altitude 

12:30 p.m.: Arrival at PCHS

6 p.m.: Site opens

8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Main show 

10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.: Fireworks

10:30 p.m.: End of festivities

Park Marie-Claire-Kirkland-Casgrain in LaSalle

There will be several events that residents can participate in such as games, workshops, face painting, etc.

The first group of activities will start at 1 p.m.

Centennial Park in Beaconsfield

Various games, music, entertainers, and two laser shows on Canada Day starting at 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Trudeau Park in Côte Saint-Luc

Citizens will be able to enjoy a live band, inflatables, face painting, a laser show, and many more activities.

There will be fees ranging from $1 to $5, and all contributions will be donated to the Recreation Bursary Fund.

Civic Centre in Dollard-Des Ormeaux

There will be various free family activities offered, including musical performances by the Freddie James Project, Fangs, Tone 11 and Last Call.

Also, food trucks will be available on site.

If it rains, the borough will host the events on July 2.

Stage schedule:

5 p.m. to 5:35 p.m.: Background music

5:40 p.m. to 6:10 p.m.: Fangs

6:20 p.m. to 7:05 p.m.: Last Call

7:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Tone 11

8:10 p.m. to 8:55 p.m.: Freddie James Project

9:05 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.: Last Call

9:55 p.m.: National Anthem followed by a speech by the mayor

10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.: Fireworks

10:15 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Freddie James Project
