NHL draft: Canadiens trade 3 picks to L.A. for 21st overall selection

By News Staff

The Montreal Canadiens are moving up in the draft, even if it’s just slightly.

Montreal acquired the Los Angeles Kings’ first-round pick (No. 21 overall) in exchange for a first-round pick (26th), a second-round pick (57th) and a seventh-round pick (198th) at this year’s draft.

The Canadiens are already selecting fifth overall this year. That pick is unchanged.

General manager Kent Hughes now has 10 total selections at the 2024 draft, which begins Friday night in Las Vegas.
