Not to sound cheesy, but did you know there’s a festival where you can enjoy different varieties of Quebec’s iconic dish?
The Grand PoutineFest is back for its 10th anniversary, and currently on its 2024 tour.
Until July 28, it’s set-up shop at the Clock Tower Quay in Montreal’s Old Port.
“It’s poutine, everybody loves it. If you never tried it, you should really come and try it, it’s really good,” said Grand PoutineFest organizer, Maude Couillard.

There are six food trucks to chose from, with over 20 flavours of poutines waiting to be savoured. From classic poutines to Hawaiian, Lobster, and much more to satisfy your taste buds.
Out of all the different poutines, chef Mathilde Mevel, who works at The Smoking Dragon food truck has a favourite: the General Tao poutine.
“It’s the most famous one and it’s kind of satisfying to mix it up with the chicken and put the sesame and the green onions,” she said.

“It’s been very vibrant. There are lots of different options. I love that each one is unique from the rest. And I love the energy that’s being brought here,” said one attendee.
While enjoying the food, visitors can also take in musical performances, including Freddie James and Lili-Ann De Francesco.
Each Sunday of the festival will also feature a unique experience just for children, with a host of special activities including colouring spaces, balloon sculptures, and a fully free inflatable fun zone.
Entry is free and the site is open from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
The festival moves to Rosemere next on Aug. 2 to the 4, then on to Joliette Aug. 9 to 11, Pointe-Claire Aug. 16 to 18, and more.
