By News Staff

The 31st edition of ItalfestMTL is set to kickoff on Aug. 2 in Montreal.

The organizers of the festival were at Casa d’Italia on Thursday for the official launch ahead of scheduled live concerts, comedy shows, fashion shows and more.

The National Congress of Italian-Canadians (NCIC) made the announcement in June about the upcoming events.

According to a press release, all of the activities will be free.

“ItalfestMTL would like to thank the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec and the City of Montreal for their financial support in the realization of the project,” reads the press release.  “Always committed to sharing Italy’s cultural richness, ItalfestMTL offers an entertaining program featuring Italian-Canadian and Italian artists of all generations.”

ItalfestMTL is a festival that celebrates Italian culture.

They’re expecting thousands of people to show up and hopefully immerse themselves in the wide variety of shows and activities.

“Well, it’s a joy for me to be here in Montreal for this event,” said Chianti Winery producer Baron Ricasoli. “We have been sending our beautiful wines for many, many years in this country.”

Some of the performances will include David Marino, Rick Pagano, Astral Gates, etc.

“For this year’s edition, we have prepared numerous surprises that you won’t want to miss,” noted the press release.

The festival runs until Aug. 11.
