Car race on Highway 13 in Laval causes serious accident and several injuries

A young driver involved in a car race collided with two sport utility vehicles on Highway 13 in Laval late Thursday evening, causing several injuries.

At around 7:45 p.m., the 23-year-old driver driving a black sedan reportedly caused a major accident on Highway 13 at Dagenais Boulevard in Laval.

The young man first crashed into a first black SUV with two adults and two children in it. Upon contact with the sedan, the SUV reportedly overturned before coming to rest on the highway service road.

The four passengers were transported to a hospital. Among them, a woman in her forties with major injuries, but her life is not in danger.

The other three passengers escaped with minor injuries.

The driver also collided with a second grey SUV that ended up on a lot near the Highway 13 service road.

This second SUV carried five passengers, including three children. No injuries were sustained.

The 23-year-old driver could face charges of impaired driving causing injury and dangerous driving causing injury. He was not seriously injured.
