Montreal gas prices at lowest since February

Gas prices are at the lowest they’ve been in the province since February.

The cost of fuel at a Petro-Canada on Notre-Dame and Guy was $1.56 per litre on Friday afternoon, which is the average price in Montreal. That’s about a 20 cent drop compared to two months ago in July and 30 cents lower than this year’s high in April.

The cost of fuel has not been this low since February, according to GasBuddy.com

This year’s gas prices in Montreal have remained steadily above the provincial average, but are on par, for now.

Quebec’s lowest gas price can be found in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, where regular gas is just under $1.44 per litre at Petroles Mauricie, on Saint-Luc Blvd.

Still, the price remains above the average cost for gas in Canada, which is at $1.52 per litre.
