Potential sexual assault victims: Montreal police need your help

Montreal police say they are looking for potential victims of sexual assault.

SPVM says in July, 41-year-old Michaël Michaud was charged with sexual assault and possession, distribution, and production of child pornography involving several underage victims.

Through an investigation, police learned that over the years, Michaud had been in contact with several children. In some cases, he befriended families and offered to do babysitting or mentoring services. Once alone with the child, he allegedly committed sexual acts against them.

It is believed the incidents took place between 2011 and 2023 in Montreal, Laval, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Île-Perrot, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Saint-Clet and Saint-Polycarpe.

Despite the charges earlier in the year, investigators still believe that there may be additional victims who haven’t come forward.

Montreal police has released three photos of Michaud, as his appearance has changed over the years.

Michaël Michaud speaks French. He is 1.78 m tall and weighs about 220 pounds. He has brown hair and wears prescription glasses.

If anyone has any information, or believe they may be a victim, the SPVM is asking that you visit your local police station, call 911 or 514-280-8502, or contact Info-Crime Montréal anonymously and confidentially at 514-393-1133 – or through their online reporting form.
