Montreal police arrested two teenage suspects Thursday linked to a robbery in Anjou.
The suspects, aged 15 and 18, were arrested following the robbery of a virtual reality headset advertised on social media.
On the evening of Oct. 19, police say an individual men a man to buy the VR headset on de la Loire Avenue in Anjou. Police say the suspect asked to try the headset on, and once the seller handed it to him, tried to steal it. Realizing the victim wasn’t letting go, the suspect allegedly hit him, stole the headset, and took off on foot.
A few days later, the alleged thief was arrested with an accomplice during a police operation. They were trying to sell the stolen headset.
A search of the home of one of the suspects led to the seizure of certain items of evidence. Both individuals were released on a promise to appear.
SPVM says it has reasons to believe the suspects were also involved in other recent robberies.
