A Lanaudière resident will be enjoying his retirement a little better than he first imagined.
Richard Plante, 68, was named the latest winner of the Grande Vie jackpot from Loto-Québec, meaning he’s won $1,000 a day for life.
According to Loto-Québec Plante had been playing the Grande Vie lottery on his phone in the hopes of winning the $25,000 lifetime annuity, but never expected he would win the top prize of $1,000 a day for life. Equivalent to $7 million.
“Let’s just say my projects will be bigger!”
When Plante called his spouse at work to share the news. “She couldn’t believe it when I told her the amount. I suggested she leave work early!”
Prior to retiring in 2018, Plante worked as an operator at a Montreall brewery.
Plante’s ticket was purchased for the Oct. 28 draw, and he was informed of his victory via a phone call from Loto-Québec.
