Vehicle torched in Anjou

A vehicle was targeted by an arson attack in the borough of Anjou overnight.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), they received a 911 call at around 2:30 a.m. about a car on fire in the driveway of a residence on Émile-Legault Ave., near Jean-Desprez Ave.
When officers arrived, the fire was brought under control by firefighters, but the vehicle was a total loss.
The flames also caused minor damage to another vehicle and to the home.
“An individual was observed at the scene of the crime. This man allegedly used an incendiary object to light the car on fire and then fled on foot,” said SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc.
There were no reported injuries, and no arrests have been made.
The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
