Freezing rain warning issued for Montreal: Environment Canada

By News Staff

A freezing rain warning is in effect for the greater Montreal area.

Environment Canada issued the weather alert, saying it’s expected on Tuesday morning and could persist into the early afternoon.

They warn of icy highways, roads, walkways and parking lots. They advise motorists to slow down in slippery conditions.

“A Colorado low will affect southern Quebec,” reads the weather statement. “Precipitation will begin as snow with a risk of freezing rain in the Ottawa Valley and north of the St. Lawrence River. South of the river, precipitation will mostly fall as rain although a risk of freezing rain remains. As the exact track of the low remains uncertain, the type and amount of precipitation received could be significantly affected.”
