Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating another arson attack that took place in Pointe-Claire on Tuesday night.
This marks the second targeted attack in less than two days in Montreal’s West Island.
Emergency services received a call just before 11:30 p.m. about a vehicle on fire in the driveway of a residence on Pendennis Ave., near Hilary Ave.
Firefighters were able to bring the flames under control, but the vehicle is a total loss.
According to the SPVM, the property where the vehicle was parked also suffered significant damage.
“After the officers checked the scene, accelerant was found on a vehicle parked in a nearby residence driveway. For this reason, the investigation was transferred to investigators from the SPVM’s arson unit,” said SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc.
There were no reported injuries, and no arrests have been made.
On Monday, around 2:40 a.m., a vehicle was set on fire in the driveway of a residence located on Hastings Ave., near Empress Ave. That investigation is also underway.
