9-year-old subject of Amber Alert found safe and sound

A nine-year-old child who was the subject of an Amber Alert on Wednesday afternoon was found safe and sound.

Sûreté du Québec (SQ) posted the update to social media about 40 minutes after the alert was issued.

The child was missing from Marieville, in the Montérégie region about 30 kilometres southeast of Montreal, and was found in Montreal.

The SQ says the investigation continues and thanks the public for their cooperation. They did not provide further details.
