Shots were fired overnight at a home in Dollard-des-Ormeaux on Montreal’s West Island.
Montreal Police (SPVM) were alerted about the incident around midnight on Louis-Riel Street, near Iberville Street.
Officers did not locate any victims or suspects when they arrived on the scene Monday — but projectile impacts were found on the residence, and shell casings on the ground.
According to initial information, the SPVM said that shots were fired towards the home and the suspect(s) fled before police arrived.
The canine unit was on the scene to help search for evidence, and witnesses were met by police — the SPVM will also view possible surveillance cameras in the area.
The SPVM told CityNews that this incident is possibly linked to three other events that recently occurred on the same street.
On the morning of Dec. 15, 2024 police responded to calls about a “mischief on a residence” — the same home as Monday’s event — here, bullet casings were found on the ground as well.
Earlier that month, on Dec. 1, 2024, several 911 calls were made at 3:15 a.m. about a vehicle on fire on Louis-Riel Street – this investigation was transferred to Montreal’s arson squad – the vehicle was considered a total loss.
Hours before, at 8 p.m. on Nov. 30, two other vehicles were set on fire on the same street.
The SPVM said that they are looking into if these incidents are related, who the target could be, and who the suspect(s) are.
No arrests have been made so far in any of these incidents, an investigation is ongoing.
