Montrealers urged to delay non-essential travel as snowstorm hits, up to 10 cm possible

Montreal residents are being advised to take extra precautions on the roads Wednesday morning, as Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issues a winter weather advisory due to snow, wind, and cold temperatures.

The combination of these factors is expected to create hazardous driving conditions, reducing visibility and causing icy surfaces. The snowy weather is expected to persist throughout the morning, with the worst conditions likely to continue until midday.

ECCC is forecasting five to 10 centimeters of snow, along with areas of blowing snow, will accumulate during this period. Travelers should be prepared for potential delays as a result of the poor conditions.

In light of the weather, authorities are urging residents to postpone any non-essential travel until conditions improve.
