The City of Montreal is rolling out a diverse and exciting lineup of free or low-cost activities for the upcoming spring break, catering to all ages and interests.
From February 26 to March 4, families can enjoy a wide range of events across the city’s parks, libraries, museums, and cultural centers.
Indoor and outdoor activities will ensure fun regardless of the weather, with options like ice skating at the Tranquille esplanade and Mount Royal park, biking in nature parks, and exciting museum visits.
Families can take part in over a hundred free workshops at local libraries, including dance, computer classes, cooking, and scientific experiments.
Library cardholders can also enjoy free entry to top Montreal museums, such as the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art, the McCord Stewart Museum, and the Biosphere. For more cultural fun, the city’s cultural centers will feature films, theater, and circus shows for children.
Espace pour la Vie, the city’s science and nature hub, is offering special spring break programming, including a new permanent exhibit at the Biodome, family activities at the Biosphere, and a winter-themed trail at the Botanical Garden.
For those seeking physical activities, the city’s large parks and nature reserves offer a variety of outdoor winter fun, such as tobogganing, cross-country skiing, and even maple taffy tastings. The Jean-Drapeau Park offers equipment rentals for skating, snowshoeing, and winter biking.
“Spring break is the perfect time to explore Montreal’s parks and cultural venues, and we’re excited to provide a variety of activities that can be enjoyed by all,” said Alex Norris, member of the executive committee. “We hope that everyone finds something to enjoy this week.”
