Vehicle set on fire in Saint-Leonard

A vehicle parked near a private residence in Saint-Leonard was the target of a suspicious fire Friday night.

According to Montreal police, it happened at around 12:15 a.m. on Copernic Street, not far from Couture Boulevard.

At least one suspect has reportedly fled the scene and is currently being sought by police.

The vehicle has been towed away for expert examination and the investigation has been turned over to the SPVM’s arson unit. No arrests have been made yet.
