Longueuil police (SPAL) confirmed Tuesday that the woman discovered dead on Sunday afternoon in a Longueuil apartment was the victim of a homicide.
On Monday, the SPAL announced that they were investigating the “suspicious death” of a woman in her 70s — now identified as Denise Brouillette.
The 79-year-old was found dead late Sunday morning in an apartment on Cuvillier Street West in Longueuil.
“The progress of our response and the examination of the scene and all the evidence gathered to date have led us to confirm that this is a homicide,” the SPAL stated in a Facebook post.
“We are continuing to work on this case while the findings of ongoing expert assessments will provide more details on the circumstances,” they added.
No arrests had been made so far. An investigation is ongoing.
