Newly elected Projet Montréal leader, Luc Rabouin along with the mayor of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Gracia Kasoki Katahwa, visited local businesses in the borough on Thursday morning to hear from merchants about their needs.
“Our leadership race is finished so now I return to the Executive Committee as in charge of economic development,” said Rabouin. “It’s important for me to restart the work.”
“We are here because it’s the first outing, I think we could say, of our leader,” said Katahwa. “I’m really, really happy that it’s here in Côte-des-Neiges -NDG because we are the most populous borough, because we have a lot of challenges.”
“And in the context of the economic turbulence, if I might say that we are going through, it was important for me that he meets with our leadership on the commercial street,” she added. “So we were in Côte-des-Neiges earlier, and now we are in NDG so we could have some discussions with our leaders to share the concerns of the local merchants on streets like Monkland.”
“I’m really happy that he’s with us today.”

Rabouin was elected to succeed Valérie Plante as the leader of Projet Montréal last Saturday.
He is set to run for Mayor of the city in the upcoming municipal elections in November – up against Ensemble Montréal’s leader, Soraya Martinez Ferrada.
