The Montreal team is having a difficult start to the season after failing to win its first five Major League Soccer matches. It sits in 15th and last place in the Eastern Conference with a 0-1-4 record.

During this streak, CF Montreal scored only two goals and allowed nine.

Courtois was named head coach of the Bleu-blanc-noir on Jan. 8, 2024. He then became the 10th head coach in the team’s history since its entry into MLS in 2012.

Courtois, a 46-year-old from France, became the third CF Montreal head coach to be replaced in just over four years.
