Videotron store employees tied up during armed robbery in Montreal

Montreal police (SPVM) say a group of suspects robbed a Videotron store on Sainte-Catherine Street West on Monday.

It happened around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of Mansfield Street in the Ville-Marie borough, just before the store’s closing time.

The suspects allegedly threatened two employees, aged 22 and 31, with what appeared to be a firearm.

Authorities report that the burglars then tied up the victims before stealing various items from the store.

The SPVM say some suspects fled by foot in an unknown direction, while others left the scene in at least two vehicles.

Police say, no one was injured during the incident.

Investigators plan to review surveillance footage to gather descriptions of the suspects.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
