Construction work to resume on Highway 15 next week

By News Staff

The Transport Ministry is informing road users that construction work on the new northbound reserved lane on Highway 15 is set to resume next week, between de la Seigneurie Blvd. in Blainville and Highway 50 in Mirabel

Starting April 9, the four lanes of Highway 15 at des Laurentides northbound will be diverted to the opposite roadway between exits 25 and 28. However, eight lanes will remain available to users, the ministry said in a news release.

“This new lane configuration is necessary to replace a culvert and carry out certain work,” they added. “It will be in place until mid-August.”

Traffic Management

  • The entrance and exit ramps to Highway 15 remain open.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 70 km/h northbound in the diverted area.
  • Other traffic disruptions will be implemented in the coming weeks.

“The new lane to be built will be reserved for public transit, carpooling, and emergency services,” the Transport Ministry said. “Ultimately, it will extend north between highways 640 and 50, and will optimize mobility in the metropolitan region, promote public transportation, improve safety and thus ease traffic during peak periods between Boisbriand and Mirabel.”
