1 dead after collision between minibus & SUV in Saint-Rémi, Montérégie

One person died and seven others were injured in a collision between a minibus and a SUV early Wednesday in Saint-Rémi, Montérégie.
Two of the injured are in critical condition.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that the accident occurred on Route 209, at Rang Notre-Dame, around 5:30 a.m.
The minibus, carrying about ten passengers, reportedly veered out of its lane and collided with the SUV traveling in the opposite direction.
One passenger in the minibus was pronounced dead at the scene, while seven other individuals were transported to hospital. Two of them are believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Weather conditions may have played a role in this collision, according to the SQ, which is continuing its investigation into the matter.
A reconstructionist and an investigator were called to the scene to analyze the accident.
