2 vehicles set on fire in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a fire that targeted two vehicles early Friday morning in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard.

Police say they got several 911 call around 1:45 a.m. about the vehicles on fire parked under a carport in the driveway of a home on Jonquet Street near Viau Boulevard.

“Some incendiary material were found on the scene,” SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc told CityNews.

The two vehicles were towed away and are considered a total loss.

The SPVM said that damage to nearby property is considered minor.

The investigation has been transferred to the SPVM’s arson unit to shed light on the circumstances of this event.

There were no reported injuries, and no arrests have been made so far.
