"Disrupting the supply of drugs," says Laval police spokesperson, Laurent Arsenault on the multiple arrests made Tuesday morning during drug raids in connection with trafficking of cocaine, tablets and crack.

Four men have been arrested in a series of drug raids that involved dozens of police officers in Laval on Tuesday morning.

The Service de police de Laval (SPL) says seven homes were raided in the operation, which a police spokesperson says targeted “a well-structured organization in trafficking and delivering of drugs in Laval.”

Police say during the searches, officers seized ammunition, cocaine, cannabis, and “fraudulent paraphernalia” used to make fake identification documents.

“This morning’s operation is aimed at disrupting the supply of drugs on our territory,” SPL spokesperson Laurent Arsenault told CityNews.

Police say the arrests were made in connection with trafficking of cocaine, tablets and crack. The arrested suspects range in age from 38 to 51.

“They are currently being questioned by our organized crime squad investigators at our headquarters,” Arsenault said.

More than 70 SPL officers were part of the early-morning drug raids.

“Our SWAT team was called in to assist us in the raids,” Arsenault said. “We had the chance to be assisted as well by the SWAT team of the Sûreté du Québec and the Longueuil police department.”

Laval police say the ongoing investigation was triggered by an anonymous tip in December 2024.

“So this is a good reminder, if you have any tip about drug trafficking, don’t hesitate to call the tip line at 450-662-INFO,” Arsenault said. “This is a good example today that a small tip can lead to a big police thing.

“It’s really important for me that the population knows that you can call us anytime when you have tip for us. That’s how we start our investigation.”
