Cruise season launches in Montreal

River cruises are officially back in Montreal, as the Port of Montreal announced its 2025 cruise schedule on Friday.

The Port of Montreal says they are expecting around 58,000 passengers and crew to take part in cruises during the year, in 42 operations from 13 cruise lines and 21 different ships.

“The Port of Montreal is proud to launch a new cruise season that manifests the vitality of our city and its appeal to cruise lines and travellers from around the world. Beyond the tourism aspect, cruises generate significant economic benefits for the local and regional community. It’s also a great opportunity to showcase our river, our expertise, and our hospitality,” said Julie Gascon, President and CEO of the Port of Montreal in a statement.

In 2024, river cruises brought in around $25 million to Montreal’s tourism industry.

The return of river cruises also brings new ships to Montreal. The port of Montreal announced that three new boats — Seven Seas Splendor (Regent Seven Seas Cruises), Silver Shadow (Silversea Cruises), and Allura (Oceania Cruises) — will be operating out of the port.
