By The Canadian Press

Shots were fired at a bar in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal neighbourhood overnight. No one was injured, but police have opened an investigation.

The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. Friday, when someone reportedly fired shots at the front door of an establishment located on Mont-Royal Avenue, near the intersection of Pontiac Street.

“According to initial reports, it appears that at least one suspect fired toward the front door before fleeing,” said Constable Manuel Couture, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service, Friday morning.

At the scene, bullet holes were found on the door of the establishment, while shell casings were found on the ground.

No arrests have been made so far.

A security perimeter has been set up around the crime scene so that Montreal police can conduct their investigation and attempt to learn more about the circumstances of this event.

Earlier this week, three other establishments in LaSalle were targeted by gunfire in less than 24 hours.
