Multiple road closures for Montreal this Mother’s Day weekend

Mobilité Montréal informs road users that “major disruptions” are expected this weekend, recommending that people plan their trips.

VILLE-MARIE TUNNEL / ROUTE 136

From Friday 11:59 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m.

In Montreal, a complete closure of R-136 West in the tunnel is set between Exit 5 (Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, Samuel-De Champlain Bridge) and the access to Rue du Fort. Significant risk of congestion is expected explained Mobilité Montréal in a news release.

Detour: at Exit 5, via Saint-Jacques Street to Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, A-10 East (Bonaventure), and Exit 4 to A-15 North / Turcot Interchange.

Default: Lucien-L’Allier Street access.

Detour: via Saint-Antoine Street West and Guy Street North and René-Lévesque Boulevard West. Trucks: via Guy Street South, Saint-Jacques Street, de la Montagne Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard West.

HIGHWAY 25 / LOUIS-HIPPOLYTE-LA FONTAINE TUNNEL

NORTHBOUND

From Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.

Starting on Saturday at a 11 p.m. there will be a complete tunnel closure between Exit 90 (R-132) on the A-20 West in Longueuil and the Hochelaga Street access in Montreal — until 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Detour: via R-132 West, Exit 82 / Jacques-Cartier Bridge, downtown exit to De Lorimier Avenue South and Notre-Dame Street. Trucks, via Pie-IX Boulevard and Sherbrooke Street.

Default: 30 minutes before

R-132 East and West access ramps (Exits 89-N).
Eastbound detour: U-turn at Exit 137 (De Montarville Boulevard). Access from Île-Charron Street.

Detour: via A-25 South and R-132 West.
Access to Île Charron will be channeled from the Marie-Victorin Boulevard access points to A-25 North.

SOUTHBOUND

From Saturday 11:00 PM to Sunday 9:00 AM

Complete tunnel closure between Exit 5 (Sherbrooke Street) in Montreal and the R-132 in Longueuil.

Detour: via Dickson Street South and Notre-Dame Street and Papineau Avenue / Jacques-Cartier Bridge. For trucks (over 4.25 m), via Dickson Street North and Hochelaga Street, de l’Assomption Boulevard, Sherbrooke Street, and Pie-IX Boulevard South.

Default: 30 minutes before, access points from Sherbrooke, Tellier, and des Futailles Streets.

Souligny Avenue: Eastbound closure of the avenue between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets. Detour: via Hochelaga Street.

LAVIOLETTE BRIDGE / HIGHWAY 55

From Friday 8 p.m. to Monday 6:30 a.m.

On the Laviolette Bridge, between Trois-Rivières and Bécancour, two of four lanes will be closed – one lane in each direction.
Lane width: 3.2 m.

In Trois-Rivières, the Arthur-Rousseau Boulevard access point.
In Bécancour, on A-55 South, Exit 176 (A-30, R-132, Sainte-Angèle, Bécancour) and the A-30 East and West / Godefroy Avenue access points to A-55 North.

R-117 / Marcel-Laurin Boulevard

In Montreal (Saint-Laurent / Cartierville borough), on the southbound R-117 (Marcel-Laurin Blvd.), partial closure of 1 of 3 lanes under the CN railway overpass (at the turnbuckle), from 2 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

“Complete closure of the southbound turnbuckle, at the CN railway overpass, from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Detour: via Saint-Louis Street and Décarie Blvd.,” Mobilité Montréal added.

PAPINEAU AVENUE IN MONTREAL

In Montreal (Ville-Marie borough), partial closure of one of two lanes on southbound Papineau Avenue, between Sainte-Catherine Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard, from Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 23.
Long-term work under the responsibility of the City of Montreal / CSEM.

HIGHWAY 30 – MADELEINE-PARENT BRIDGE

In Beauharnois, on Highway 30 in the Madeleine-Parent Bridge area, partial closures are planned between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

Highway 530 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield

In Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, on Highway 530 East, Exit 5 (R-201 North, R-132 East, Mgr Langlois Blvd., Coteau-du-Lac) is closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday and from 6 a.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Detour: Turn around at the next exit.

Alao in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, on Highway 530 East, access from R-201 South (Mgr Langlois Blvd.) is closed from 1 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

Detour: via the ramp for Highway 530 West (toward Huntingdon), des Érables Blvd. and Gérard-Cadieux Blvd. Optional: upstream, via Hébert Blvd. and Pie-XII Blvd.

On A-530 East, complete closure between des Érables Blvd. and Exit 5 (R-201 North, R-132 East, Mgr Langlois Blvd., Coteau-du-Lac), from Sunday 8 p.m. to Monday 6 a.m.

Detour: via des Érables Blvd. and Sainte-Marie Blvd. / North Service Road, Victoria Street westbound, roundabout for Hébert Street and R-201 South. Trucks: via Gérard-Cadieux Blvd. and Pie-XII Blvd.

Optional: via A-530 West, Gérard-Cadieux Blvd., Pierre-Paul-Messier and Jacques-Cartier Streets, Sainte-Marie Blvd. / North Service Road and main detour.

Default: Exit 5 (R-201 North, R-132 East, Mgr Langlois Blvd., Coteau-du-Lac).


Detour: Follow the main detour upstream, then take the R-201 South ramp to A-530 East, and turn around at the next exit.

A remined that Peel Basin / Victoria Bridge, closure of one of three lanes in each direction until December.

On Clément Bridge, contraflow traffic – one lane in each direction – until December.

Eastbound, exit 5 (Île des Sœurs) is closed until the end of May.
