Moving Day: Quebec rental tribunal’s phone lines open, service counters closed

Quebec’s rental tribunal, the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL), says it will be just a phone call away for tenants or landlords needing help on July 1 — Moving Day in the province.
TAL says paralegals will be available by phone from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though the number of staff members on duty will be reduced.
No services will be offered in person at various TAL offices, however. They will return to normal business hours on July 2.
In Quebec, the majority of leases end on June 30, resulting in a large number of moves on July 1.
Anyone in Montreal, Laval and Longueuil needing TAL’s assistance can call 514-873-2245. Anyone outside of those major cities can call 1-800-683-2245.
