Fun-filled weekend forecasted for Montreal with a mix of sunshine & chance of showers

Montreal’s first weekend of July is set for good vibes with sunshine and festivals but be ready to pack an umbrella incase showers come down on Saturday.
The Jazz Festival is continuing to fill the city with music on Friday while the Montreal Comiccon kicks off — these exciting events are being met with sizzling summer weather today as sunny skies cover the metropolis with a high of 26°C.
Come Saturday, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is forecasting an increase of cloudiness and a 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon. But the possibility of rain won’t stop the fun in the city with temperatures feeling like 33°C with the humidex.
Every first weekend of the month, Canada’s largest annual street food gathering called First Friday happens at the Olympic Stadium. And yes, it will continue into Saturday, celebrating world cuisine.
All this while the Festiv’été spicy edition is back tomorrow at Jean-Talon Market, and the Festival Matsuri begins at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre of Montreal on Rousselot Street in Villeray, celebrating Japanese culture — featuring delicious food, entertainment, and activities for all.
Sunday is expected to be another hot, hot, hot day.
Sunshine is being forecasted by ECCC with a daytime high of 32°C.
The annual Loto-Quebec International Fireworks Competition will light up the sky once again on Sunday at 10 p.m. The show for this date: Echoes from Japan: From Screen to Sky.
But ECCC is predicting showers at night Sunday, so keep an eye out and that umbrella.
